Definition of Terms

  • Retail - More than 90% of your transactions are done face-to-face and your customer's credit card is swiped through a retail terminal device.
  • MOTO - Mail order or telephone order, non face-to-face transactions. In this scenario, you receive your customers' orders and credit card information either through the phone, fax, or email. You manually enter the customers' credit card and billing information into a standard retail type terminal or into PC or MAC based credit card processing software.
  • Internet - Transactions are conducted thru the Internet via the use of an online Virtual Terminal. These transactions can be initiated by your customers through a shopping cart on your website, or you can enter your customers information directly through the secure Virtual Terminal.
